Prayers for Beginning of Everything
We have collected some of the best prayers for beginning of everything to use in request to God. May these prayers for safety bring you comfort and peace of mind. May these prayers for strength encourage your spirit and strengthen your faith.
Praying at the beginning of a meeting is a great way of reminding ourselves that God is with us, that He is at the centre of everything we do, and that the reason we are alive is to love and worship Him.
Gathered together on this page are a number of prayers that can be used for opening meetings and Christian events such as church services, weddings and bible studies. There’s also a “how to” on writing your own prayer together with a sample opening prayer.
Opening Prayer for a Meeting
We thank you for everyone gathered here now.
Thank you that you know each of us by name and have caused us to walk with You.
We say that we are dependant on You and our trust is in You completely.
As we surrender ourselves in adoration we ask that You would come by Your Holy Spirit and inspire our hearts today.
Come fill our lives with Your love,
Fill our conversations with Your grace and truth,
Fill this meeting with Your presence.
We ask this for Your glory and praise.
In the name of God, Most Kind, Most Merciful

Lord, today is the day I begin!
St. Philip Neri

May the Passion of Christ be ever in our heart.
St. Paul of the Cross
And to be more with Him, more with Him, not merely with oneself.
Pope John Paul II
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you
May you be confident knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
— St. Therèse of Lisieux and St. Theresa of Avila
Prayer for Endings and New Beginnings
I’m on my knees again. Lord, I need You. A new year has dawned, and I want to be filled with the hope only You can provide. Last year was consumed with stress, worry, and fear. Even as I went to You in daily prayer, my thoughts would often lead to begging You to fix everything in the way I wanted. I prayed for the health and happiness of family, friends, and strangers. I know You are in control of the world and I need only to trust in You. In the past, I have considered the first day of the year to be a time for renewal, only to fall short of my goals within hours. Father, today, I am asking for Your help. I ask for You to help me put the past behind me and to move forward seeking to share Your love with others. I pray that in these coming days there will be new beginnings for everyone. I pray we all will seek a closer walk with You. In Your Holy Name, Amen.
At the Beginning of the Day
I find myself at the beginning of another day.
I do not know what it will bring.
Please help me to be ready for whatever it may be.
If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely.
If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly.
If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently.
If I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly.
I pray just for today, for these twenty-four hours,
for the ability to cooperate with others according to the way Jesus taught us to live.
“Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
May these words that he taught us become more than words.
Please free my thinking and feelings and the thinking and feelings of others,
from all forms of self-will, self-centeredness, dishonesty, and deception.
Along with my brothers and sisters,
I need this freedom to make my choices today according to your desires.
Send your Spirit to inspire me in time of doubt and indecision so that, together, we can walk along your path.

Business Meeting Prayer
Lord, you have entrusted use as stewards of your creation
Please guide our hearts as we make our decisions
We seek you first in all we do together
We give you our business, our suppliers, our customers and our workforce
May we be always mindful of their service
We confess that we are nothing without you
And our trust is in you completely
Prayer for a New Start
Thank You for the opportunity to have a new start. Too many times, I have strayed from my relationship with You. In times of distress and worry, I chose to try and handle things on my own. Moments of frustration, anger, and sadness have flooded my body. In those conflicting times, I chose to stay away from You. I neglected to seek Your help. Father, forgive me. You are the way, the truth, and the light. I ask You once again to guide me on the path to a new start in life. Please cover me with Your love, protection, and mercy. Please allow me to show Your love to others as I begin a new day. Thank You, Father, for Your love and forgiveness. Thank You for searching and finding me again. (Deuteronomy 31:8) Thank You for never leaving me alone. In Your Name, Amen.
For Times of Transition
God of Love,
You are with us in every transition and change.
As we enter into this new era with excitement and even some anxiety,
we recall your deep compassion, presence, and abounding love.
We thank you for the gifts, talents and skills with which you have blessed us.
We thank you for the experiences that have brought us to this moment.
We thank you for the work of others that gives breadth and depth to our own work.
Be with us as we move forward, rejoicing with you and supporting one another.
We ask this in your Holy Name.

The Spirit of God is Always with Us at This Time, in This Place
We awaken in our time to a Universe which is holy,
to creation which is not an event in the past, but a living event of the present.
We enter a new mode of human presence where we are not merely observers,
but where each of us is a participant in this moment of evolution.
Like all other creatures, we carry with us Wisdom and Values, the dynamics of the Universe.
But unlike other creatures, we must choose whether and how we will live in harmony
within this sacred web of creation.
May we be open to the Source of All Being, Our God within and among us!
We have the capacity to wonder,
and to celebrate this great mystery of existence within such a magnificent Universe!
In us the Universe enters into a great celebration of itself.
We are part of the Dance, the Great Work, the Great liturgy which is the Universe unfolding.
Glory to You, O God, Source of All Being!
This great Liturgy finds expression at this moment in us,
gathered here in a posture of prayerful openness, with listening hearts, loving spirits and a holy wonder.
May the sacred web that unites us with each other, our God and all creation,
ignite communities of light and hope throughout the Earth.
May we be open to the Source of All Being, Our God within and among us!
Together We Pray:
O Gracious, gentle Spirit of Love,
Your energy permeates the Universe,
Igniting Earth with
Your Goodness, Truth and Beauty.
Open our minds and hearts
To a deeper awareness
Of our interconnectedness with You,
Each other and all creation.
May we experience
Your unique presence
Within the sacred web of creation.

Thank You. Thank You for the new beginnings You provide in every moment. My body is filled with praise and thanksgiving for the love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness You give. Even when I fail, You are there waiting to pick me up and guide me back on the path You have ready for me. You have placed wonderful people in my life to help me follow You. Thank You for those special people. I will praise You in the storms and I will praise You in the joys. (Philippians 4:4) Thank You, God, for new beginnings. Amen.
Lord You Make All Things New
Lord you make all things new, the Creator who is continually nurturing, renewing, and developing every aspect of our remarkable universe.
Lord you make all things new. I rest in your creative arms, I dwell in the hope of this renewal, I hope in the strength of your mighty hand.
Lord you make all things new. Take all I am, all I care for, and all I love into your gentle arms. Come to touch and heal, mend and restore, release and minister.
Lord thank you that you make all things new. Thank you that there is always a new start in you. Thank you that today my life is being remade anew.
Prayer For A New Beginning
At the beginning of this new day, I offer you my life.
Come take my voice, may the words I speak be filled with encouragement and goodness.
Come take my hands, may the work they create be generous and giving.
Come take my feet, may the journeys I walk be led by your Spirit within.
Come take my life Lord, for I love your goodness, your kindness and your leading.
