A College Students Prayer

Heavenly Lord there is so much that is facing me during this time at college that I scarcely have time to pray and Lord I know that only when the Lord Jesus is the central focus of my life will I have the sufficient supply I need.

Help me to discipline myself to spend time with You – not in a legalistic sense but in the knowledge that time spent with You in Your word and in prayerful communion is time that is well spent – for only as I rest on You can You work through me.

Lord, there are also so many distractions in college life, not only the pull from other students to waste time on unedifying entertainment – but even behind closed doors on the dorm there is always the pull of mindless internet interactions that can so often steal important time. Help me to resist the temptations that seem to surround me throughout the day and the night times – but deliver Lord when I do succumb to foolish desires…

Help me to stay focussed on my educational studies I pray, and not to miss the many deadlines that are set for by the various tutors and I do pray that You would enable me to have a good nights sleep each night, so that I am ready to face the day refreshed .

Thank You for the friends that You have brought into my life and thank You for the friends and family I have beyond the walls of this college – and help me to be a true witness to Jesus and stand fast in my belief in You. Thank You in Jesus name,

Amen

Prayers For StudentsPrayer for College Students

Dear God,

This is such an exciting time.
Full of hope, full of dreams, full of life.
A great chance to learn, to take risks and explore,
To gain new skills and grow up on the inside.
A safe place to meet friends
Join in and have fun,
Such times of excitement and joy lie ahead.

My prayer for them is that you would hold them in your love.
May they know right from wrong.
I ask for your strong hand to lead the way,
Yet still give them the freedom to fly.
It is such a great age to embrace life,
Keep them shining in the light,
All the time!
Follow and cover, lead and protect
Set them free and hold them, close everyday.
You are a heavenly Father to them.
I know you will hear all I pray.

Amen.

Teach Me

Dear Lord,

Teach me to live my life.
Teach me to know how to use all the good I have inside of me.
Teach me to think right, speak good words, and do good deeds.
Teach me to see the good in all.
Teach me to share with my fellow human beings in respect and love.
Teach me love.

Amen

Prayer For Christian Students At College

Hear our prayer O Lord for Christian students and young people who have trusted Jesus Christ as their Saviour but who are having to face ridicule and persecution from unbelieving students and atheistic professors. Lord we know that many are required to adhere to a humanistic curriculum that denies the truth of Scripture, at the colleges and universities that they are attending and we pray that You would be their ever-present help in times of trouble

Turn the tide of unbelief we pray and raise up an army of young Christian men and women who will stand fast for their faith in Christ in a world that has rejected godly principle and the truth of God’s word.

Protect and equip each one we pray to withstand anti-Christian attitudes and agendas that are effectively flooding today’s educational institutions and places of learning and may they guard their hearts and minds through the washing of the water with the Word of God. Thank You Lord, in Jesus name we pray,

Amen

A Prayer for Guidance When Life (and School) are Challenging

Lord, I’m here today with open hands and an open heart, ready to depend on you to help me through the day and all it will bring my way. Help me be like Nehemiah, help me come to you for guidance, strength, provision and protection. As I face tough choices and hard situations, help me remember my belovedness, help me remember that I am Your child and Your representative to the world around me. Help me live today in a way that brings honor to Your holy name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer for Success at School

Lord, today I’m asking You to help me succeed as a student. I believe You are the Dream-maker, the Cultivator, and the Fulfiller of all worthy dreams. You have been the Designer of my plans all along, and it’s You who will make them successful. Help me to focus on my schoolwork, to listen carefully and show respect for my teachers and professors, and to receive correction well in areas where I’m wrong or haven’t yet mastered.

I know I am more than a student; I am a life-long learner and Your ambassador on mission wherever I go. Refine my abilities; hone my character; and help me choose wisely the areas of study that will make my life work successful. Keep me organized and free of distractions so I can focus on school. Show me how to listen more and then share freely when it will encourage others or make a difference to those who hear. Help me to honor You in my friendships at school and to be ready to lend a hand when others are struggling in their studies or in their lives. Help me sow seeds of kindness, excellence, and honesty. If my faith is challenged, give me courage to stand for You, no matter what the consequences.

I want to learn, Lord. I am eager to unwrap the gifts You have given me. With each new skill I acquire, help me to apply that learning to real life as well. Let knowledge, understanding, and common sense form a bond together with Your Word that will guard me against temptation. Keep the deceiver away from my heart as I choose to walk with You daily. Help me find moments in the flurry of school activities and crazy schedules to simply be still and know that You are God.

Protect me from a prideful ego and let humility lead me in the path of success You have carved out for me. You have given me a unique place in Your kingdom, and I trust You to open doors that I cannot open myself. Help me not to turn to the left or right but to follow You daily. When anxious thoughts or fear of failure threaten to overtake me, I will rest in You and Your promise of success for my life. Only You know what that success really means, but when You are on my side, I cannot fail.

jesusPrayer For Sunday School Students

Loving heavenly Father, we ask Your blessing and grace on the many children, young people and students that are learning of You in the Sunday schools and Bible classes and pray that You would teach each one Your ways and guide each one into the truth of Your unchanging word. Raise up we pray, teachers that teach the whole council of God and do not distort the gospel of grace – that Christ died for their sins, and that He rose the third day to break the power of sin in the lives of all who believe in the full and final sacrifice of Jesus, for all who would believe.

Open the hearts of all these students to know more and more about You and teach them Your ways – guiding them into all truth we pray. Bring into their lives other young people who have a love of You and a knowledge of the truth and protect their hearts and minds from the religiosity, false teachers and distorted doctrines that so often flood the churches and pulpits of today.

Raise up godly teachers we pray and prepare the hearts of all those that are attending the Sunday School of our land to come into a knowledge of the truth and to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the truth of the gospel of grace, in Jesus name we pray,

Amen

A Prayer for the End of the Semester

Lord, I pray that you would go before me and stand behind me in these coming weeks. I pray that I would be strengthened by your presence, and that I would know you are with me always. Thank you for always being near to me, for showering your blessings upon me when I am undeserving, for providing for me in little and big ways that remind me of your constant faithfulness. You have made a way for me to get this far, and I’m so grateful, Jesus.

Would you give me wisdom and discernment in this season? Would you help me to prioritize my tasks and assignments intentionally, and focus wholeheartedly on what needs to be accomplished? I pray that I would be committed to my schoolwork, that I would care deeply about the work on my plate, and that I would keep my attention on what’s important right now. Keep me faithful, Lord. Strengthen me when I begin to feel weary. Renew my spirits when I start to falter. Surround me with encouraging friends and wise mentors.

Help me to finish strong, Lord. May I do all of this for the glory of your name alone.

In your name I pray, amen.

Prayer For Unsaved Students In Today’s World

Heavenly Father, we lift up to you the many young people and students that are attending the colleges and universities of today with little of no knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and His gift of salvation by grace through faith in Him that is offered and so frequently rejected. Father we grieve that the truth of Christ’s sacrifice of Himself is to little known, so rarely taught correctly and for frequently rejected as myth.

Lord we lift each one up to You and ask that in Your great grace and mercy You would make Yourself known – especially to those that have been hurt by the false doctrines and religiosity that is pervading Christianity today.

Lord the trend in today’s society and especially in places of learning is to ridicule the Word of God and deny the Creator Who made them and the Saviour that gave His life to pay the price for their sins… Meet each one I pray at their point of need and bring many of these lost young people into the knowledge of the truth.

Look down in pity on all unsaved students, for it is not Your will that any should perish but that all come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ – in Your righteous displeasure – remember mercy we pray in Jesus name,

Amen

A Prayer for Students

Lord our God,
in your wisdom and love
you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.

Send your Spirit upon these students
and fill them with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may
devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you,
the source of all knowledge.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
R/. Amen.

A Prayer for Trusting God in Hard Seasons

Lord, I thank You that You are the God of the impossible. You can do anything. I want to trust in Your ability and not my own. Teach me to see difficulties in my life from Your perspective. Help me to focus on You and Your power. I want to be like Joshua and Caleb who believed in a good report and focused on You even in hard circumstances (Numbers 14:7-9). My responsibility is to carefully read, trust, and obey Your Word. Today I bring before You this difficulty in my life [such as these upcoming exams, or this challenging semester, or a difficult class, etc]. Help me not to fear but to trust You in this situation. I declare my faith in Your ability to fulfill Your promises to me. You will fight for me and win the battles in my life. You are mighty, powerful, righteous and true.

In Jesus name, amen.

Young Christian Student’s Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, I pray that I may be the best that I can be in my studies and to develop a hunger to learn and the ability to organise my study time and the ability to retain and apply those things that are important to learn and retain.

Lord, make me a willing student I pray and give me a thirst for the right sort of knowledge – not just the accumulation of irrelevant facts, but a wisdom to know how to apply all that I have learned in my daily life.

I pray that I would find grace in the eyes of my teachers and especially those that seem to want to destroy the faith of their students. Give me the grace and wisdom extend a helping hand and a friendly smile to all with whom I come in contact and help me to deal with the other students and staff that seem to have a vendetta against those of us that trust in Jesus as our God and Saviour.

Lord I want to grow into a mature believer and there are many areas in my life that need Your fine tuning.. help me to be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to correct and train me – even when I would prefer to have my own way! Let me never forget that without You at the helm of my life I can do nothing – but that with You as the Anchor to my soul I can do all things through Christ, Who gives me the strength. Help me Lord to be the best that I can be in Jesus name I pray,

Amen

A Prayer for Students to Make New Friends

Lord Jesus, school can be a welcome place or a lonely experience for our students. Guide them as they seek to make new friends. Encourage the timid students and give them boldness and strength in knowing they are loved, unique, and created by You. To the insecure, grant confidence so they can be free to help others find the same assurance in You.

Guard our students from those who bully or tease because of their own insecurities. As iron sharpens iron, may they choose friends wisely, always asking You to lead them and guide them in their relationships. Help them to be slow to anger and quick to listen. You have promised to give wisdom when we ask, so prod them to speak up when their words can make a difference. Show our students how to bless their friends, to stand up for them, and to take the initiative in helping others in times of discouragement. Help them understand that friendship is a boomerang. Kindness and unselfishness given away will return to them as a blessing. And above all, may they always consider You, Lord, as their Best Friend.

A Prayer for Students to Balance School and Faith

Lord, we want more for our students than mere survival. We pray You will make them outstanding leaders and imitators of Your character, secure in their faith. Our students deal with tests often, not just with their schoolwork, but in their spiritual lives. Help them to be bold as lions, in the sense that their faith won’t be shaken by those who attack or question it. Give them knowledge of Your Word and time to memorize and meditate often on its biblical truths. Teach them to respect others’ beliefs without compromising their own.

Like a tightrope walker, Lord, our students are trying to balance familiar Truth against a host of other unfamiliar voices that are trying to sway their beliefs and make them fall. In a world where values are decreasing, morality is fading, and persecution is increasing, help our students to walk humbly, to honor You daily, and to remain true to their calling in Christ. Let them be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks them for the hope or confidence they possess and a reason why they have chosen a relationship with You. Help them to let their Light shine at school and wherever they go so that others who observe their attitudes and actions will know that they are the real thing.

When our students make mistakes or feel they have become imbalanced, help them find the courage to admit, “I was wrong. Forgive me,” or “Lord, I need help.” Let them treasure their “difference” as a gentle yet bold believer, never to flaunt it or to hide it because of timidity or embarrassment. If they encounter challenges that pit their studies against their faith, remind them that You are always on their side and that You are their Wise Counselor, the Way, the Truth, and the Life. You are the One who can dispel lies and deceit. Whether they face fear or danger or simply need comfort, may they always turn to You, the One Who always hears their cries, and the One who will never leave them or forsake them.

This is a stressful season, and I’m overwhelmed by the mountain of work ahead of me, yet I trust in you. I know that when I put my faith in you, even when it’s as small as a mustard seed (Luke 17:6), miracles can be accomplished. I pray that as I study in these coming weeks, as I soak up knowledge and memorize facts, as I read and process and write, that you would be renewing my mind and strengthening my spirit. Help me to persevere through the massive to-do lists and the busy schedules, and help me to keep my eyes fixed on you throughout it all.

As I enter my classrooms and exam rooms, I pray you would blanket me in your peace. Ease any anxieties, calm my restless mind, and give me focus on the task at hand. I pray that I would know my worth is in you alone, not in any grade I do or do not make, not in any assignment or test or teacher’s opinion. I pray that I would fear your presence during my exams, and that I would be comforted by your nearness.

Thank you for the gift of this education, Jesus. I pray that these final exams would be a celebration of all I have learned in this season, and that I would be grateful for all that I have experienced and for all the ways I have grown.

May you be glorified, Lord. Amen.

Loving Father, I stand before You in the midst of confusion and complexities of life. My future sometimes seems distant and unknown. Give me, O Lord, the vision to see the path You set before me. Dear Lord, as I continue in this new college life help me never to forget to devote time of praise and worship to You. I know that you are the One who sustains me and the least I can do for everything that You have done for me is to dedicate time to You. Help me to know that renewing my mind in You is a necessary part of my life. Nudge me out of bed on Sunday and if there is a good mid-week service please make it so I can go to that too. Send new friends my way that are like-minded Christians who will attend services with me and hold me accountable when I am absent. I love you Lord and I want to praise and worship You. In Jesus name, Amen

Feed me today with your daily bread. As the Bread of Life, your food, like manna, will sustain me throughout any trials and hungers. Help me to set my thoughts on things above and to speak only what will help and encourage others. Keep me from putting my foot in my mouth, and help me guard the affections of my heart today, Lord. Make whatever work I do be marked with excellence rather than perfectionism, as I seek not to make a name, but to make a difference. Help me to treat each person I encounter as you would, with respect and love, forgiving others and asking for forgiveness myself when needed.

As I start this day, help me remember that I belong to you, and my desire is to act accordingly. Keep my feet from stumbling and my mind from wandering into distractions that could steal precious time and energy from the most important things you have designed for me. I’m proud to be your child, Lord. And I’m so grateful that you died for me—rising again on your own new morning—so that every day could be filled with the wonder of your love, the freedom of your Spirit, and the joy of knowing you.

I know earthly life is short and fleeting, Lord. But I want to live today as if it were the first or the last day of my life, giving thanks for every good and perfect gift you choose to give. Today, and every day, I want to live my life for you, Jesus. In your precious name, Amen.

something extra from them this year.

Help them have just the right words of encouragement for each
student.

Give them loads of love.

Help the love in their hearts just overflow so they always have
plenty to spare.

We can’t conjure it up Lord, but you give in abundance… please
supply all the love teachers need.

Please supply them energy too, Lord.

Please let them sleep well at night so they are rested and
refreshed each morning.

Don’t let them take their problems and worries to bed with
them at night.

Give them patience with students, with parents, and with their
administration.

Again, Lord, it’s you who supplies in abundance.

Please keep the students and teachers safe this year.

Keep them safe from accidents or evil intent.

Let the students be excited about this wonderful world and all
there is to learn about it.

Help them to be interested in each other, for there’s a wealth to
learn about and from each other, and this is true for teachers
and parents as well.

Give the parents willing hearts, both to help in the classroom if
they can, and certainly to be involved in their children’s
homework and in their stories as the year goes on.

Let this be a truly wonderful year for everyone involved in
education.

Let everyone feel, at the end of the year, that they learned all
they could and gave the best they had.

Back to School Prayer for Educators

As I step into a new academic year
Restore my spirit
Renew my passion for sharing your wisdom
And nurture my compassion
for those You put in my charge.

Transform me as I seek to transform
Guide me as I seek to guide
Open my mind and heart
As I seek to open minds and hearts
To the Good News of justice and peace.

Help me listen more deeply
To the world and to your Word
So I can walk with my students
Attentive to the Wisdom that
Calls us all to the Kingdom of God.
