Submission To God In The Old Testament
What does the Old Testament say about submission? We are all called to be in submission to God as addressed in many versus in the Bible.
What does submission mean? Google’s dictionary defines submission as “the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person.” Submitting means putting others before yourself; it means not always doing what you want to do. It means putting God’s desires above your desires.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. (Psalms, 28:7)
Those who trust in the Lord… which can not be shaken but endures forever. (Psalms, 125:1)
He said: “The Lord is my strength, my fortress and my deliverer; my God… in Whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—from violent men You save me.” (2 Samuel, 22:2-3)
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. (Proverbs, 29:25)
